Trinidad, Colorado - A Historic Building SurveyBloom BuildingMap location #34. Frank and Sarah Bloom are listed as the original owners of this property, purchasing the land in 1889 and building in 1890. The property remained in their names until 1930 when it was bought by George Joseph. During the time he owned the property, Joseph occupied the apartment upstairs. In the 1930's the first floor was occupied by Western Auto Stores and in the 1940's by Sweetbriar. In the 1960's it became Lanny's Supermarket and remained so until 1970. The engaged stone columns add an eye-appealing touch to this building. Some recent work on the building has rather seriously marred its beauty. Legal Description: Part of Lot 1; Block 115 OTS.
